A busy week for space travel...

Early in the week the V.S.S Enterprise* - the first in Richard Branson's fleet of sub-orbital spaceships - finished its second powered flight. The press release on the test had two spectacular videos: One of the flight seen from the ground...

....and one of the flight seen from the back of the spaceship itself...

To cap the week off for space enthusiasts, early this morning the unmanned LADEE spaceship began it's journey to the Moon:

Its mission is to understand the ultra thin atmosphere of the Moon, and look for signs of electrostatically levitateing dust flying around. So not Star Trek's 5 year mission but, like with the ice found at the lunar poles, the Moon always surprises us...

*Branson is building a fleet of spaceships, are you really surprised he's a Trekkie?
