All the light in the Universe measured!


Image above: The 'cosmic scaffolding' of dark matter that helped the universe as we know it today to form. No, it's nothing directly to do with the rest of the post, I just needed something pretty and vaguely space-y to put at the top.

Why!? Never mind how. Who wakes up in the morning and thinks 'I want to find out how much light there is in the whole universe' ?

His name is Alberto Dominguez. And he's pulled off this bizarre feat of  measurement just because it's interesting - it might  provide clues to the evolution of galaxies, matter and energy from the beginning of time. But, reading between the lines, I kinda get the impression he was just curious.
