Not every space flight results in a 'one small step for man' moment. Some of them result in a crater, or a large fire, followed by lots and lots of swearing.
But, the ones that end in explosions or hitting the ground at high speed aside, even fairly humdrum spaceflights are steadily pushing the boundaries of what our technology can do.....
