Beware gravity 2 - The longest drop in the galaxy.....

When it comes to gravity, black holes are king. But the emperor among black holes is enthroned amongst doomed stars and gas clouds in the middle of our galaxy.........

If your eye could see past the dust clouds between here and there you would see a ball of fire that looked the same size as the Moon - even though it was countless millions of times further away. That fireball is the gas, dust, and debris, accelerated to incredible speeds by the monster black holes gravity. The particles rub against other at colossal speed, heating up hugely.

And the black hole is being well behaved at the moment. If it ever really wakes up we'll be sharing a galaxy with one of these.....
