Sometimes mother nature does something that reminds us smart-ass humans she's still got lots of tricks. Like coming up with the mould that's growing in the irradiated core of the Chernobyl reactor.
It doesn't just tolerate levels of ionising radiation that would kill a human. Oh no, just being radiation proof isn't enough for this mad mushroom: It has learned to eat the radiation (Cue X-files soundtrack).
The radiation from Chenobyl haunted Europe for decades. To some things though, it was a free meal...
It seems like life and nature always find unexpected ways out of bad situations - especially when us humans have cocked things up.....
