Arrgghhhhhh!
Ok, the geneticist and the artist have made a few apparently reasonable assumptions: That mankind will expand into space, that many of us will be living on worlds further from the Sun than Earth, and that those worlds won't have ozone layers. So we'll need big eyes to see in the dark, and we'll need darker skin to keep out the UV radiation.
But I'm not buying it: If you live a long way from the Sun then UV won't be a problem, and if you have the technology to build a colony on another planet then surely you have the technology to light it properly? Nice idea guys, but I think you've just unconsciously channeled Paul the space alien:
